Brake system 002

Brake System 002 is a hydraulic operating brake system for unique specially built vehicles and trailers.

The unique feature of the brake system:

Is the way it combines two separate brake fluid systems.

• Power from the towing vehicle has to be transferred in some way to the trailer, but unfortunately there is no way of connecting two separate brake fluid systems with direct couplings without getting air in the system.
• The only solution is to divide the system into two separate parts.

System 002 in brief.

The vehicle’s brake system is inadequate to cope with the trailer.

The control unit or "black box" has its own system that adapts the brake pressure between the vehicle and trailer.

The vehicle and trailer take the brake torque that they each require; measurements and tests have shown differences of just +/-45 kg at the coupling point, which are incredibly low tensile differences.

The brake system was developed when American electro-pneumatic systems were unable to meet European requirements.
